Looking For Alaska [Audiobook]

Looking for AlaskaLooking for Alaska by John Green
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Miles Halter is fascinated by famous last words and tired of his safe life at home. He leaves for boarding school to seek what the dying poet Francois Rabelais called the "Great Perhaps." Much awaits Miles at Culver Creek, including Alaska Young. Clever, funny, screwed-up, and dead sexy, Alaska will pull Miles into her labyrinth and catapult him into the Great Perhaps.

Looking for Alaska brilliantly chronicles the indelible impact one life can have on another. A stunning debut, it marks John Green's arrival as an important new voice in contemporary fiction."

I didn't know where this book was going at first. Miles kept counting down, I knew something big was going to happen, like someone suspended, or something. The actual event was a true shocker.

Characters:
Miles 'pudge': Such a cute boy, pudge is. I loved him from the first minute. If John Green were to re-write this story, he should leave this character alone.

Alaska:... I want to say that she's a bitch, but I feel so sorry for her that I won't.

Chip 'The Colonel': Braver man I ever knew!

well, that's it for now,

The Pledge [Ebook]

The Pledge (The Pledge, #1)The Pledge by Kimberly Derting
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"In the violent country of Ludania, the language you speak determines what class you are, and there are harsh punishments if you forget your place—looking a member of a higher class in the eye can result in immediate execution. Seventeen-year-old Charlaina (Charlie for short) can understand all languages, a dangerous ability she's been hiding her whole life. Her only place of release is the drug-filled underground club scene, where people go to shake off the oppressive rules of the world they live in. There, she meets a beautiful and mysterious boy who speaks a language she's never heard, and her secret is almost exposed. Through a series of violent upheavals, it becomes clear that Charlie herself is the key to forcing out the oppressive power structure of her kingdom…."

The thought of many languages INTRIGUED me. The fact that Charlie could answer them all baffled me. I think this is a great book. It has a very well plot, amazing characters, and no love triangles!

Let's start with Angelina; my one true love. From the start I knew that she was meant for greatness. And in the last moments, I thought that if anything were to happen to Charlie, she would have been the queen anyways, and they would find a way to kill Sabara. They should make a statue in her honor. She's pure queen.

Alexander reminds me of those weird characters who are truly honorable but give a vibe of weirdness. He's great, but freaky at some points. The book doesn't really describe his relationship with Eden, of which I was dying to know more about.

Charlie's parents; Y U NO Tell Charlie from the start? If they had, then the last 100 pages would have been less restless, and I wouldn't have to stay up all night to know what would happen! This whole thing is totally their fault. *sigh*

Aron, sweet lovely Aron. I really don't know why you carry Charlie's and Brook's bags, but I think you are worth being a king. Sometimes more than any other male character. If you were to voice your feelings to Charlie, we would have been in so much trouble. So, I must apologize and thank you for not voicing those feelings and sparing us the mixed emotions.

Brooklynn. Girl, I hate you! You might act all lovely and charming, but the truth is, I never trusted you. It always felt like there was something you were hiding, and as though that something was important in the plot, I'm still mad at you. How can you call yourself Charlie's best friend. You couldn't even tell if she was awake in the last chapter!!

Max. If it weren't for Charlie taking my place, you would have been completely mine. But I feel sorry for Charlie, so I would spare you for another day. ♥

Charlie. Charlie, Charlie, Charlie. You not only intrigue me, you fascinate me and never fail to amaze me every time I read about you.

All in all, amazing book, very well written and I would definitely recommend it!

Angel

Jane Eyre [AudioBook]

Jane EyreJane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Born into a poor family and raised by an oppressive aunt, young Jane Eyre becomes the governess at Thornfield Manor to escape the confines of her life. There her fiery independence clashes with the brooding and mysterious nature of her employer, Mr. Rochester. But what begins as outright loathing slowly evolves into a passionate romance. When a terrible secret from Rochester's past threatens to tear the two apart, Jane must make an impossible choice: Should she follow her heart or walk away and lose her love forever?

Unabashedly romantic and utterly enthralling, Jane Eyre endures as one of the greatest love stories of all time." -Goodreads.

You know how I never read a classic in my life. Well, I'm glad I started with Jane Eyre.Oh you have no idea about the joy I felt when I truly got to know her. It was magical. I wished that she was real. She's brilliant! She went through so many difficult things throughout her life, but she still turned out absolutely great.

It's a true magical story. Might be a few years old, but it is such a great story. I can't tell when did I like her most, for all her life is quite interesting to me. But let me start from the beginning anyway.

I liked how brave she was, when she was young. Always fighting with her aunt. Not really her aunt though, she's her uncle's widow. She had two daughters and one son. The son used to hit Jane, and when she complained about it to her aunt, his mother, everyone would assume that she is mistaken, or that she is the one who hit him instead.

After a while, her aunt sent her to an institution. She learnt so much in this institution, one might say that her aunt did her a favor, saved her life from what it would have been.

After completing her tuition time she taught in the same institution. After that, she advertised and went to teach someone named Adele. Adele is french, and she doesn't speak much English.

Wait. I must pause here. Did I mention that the narrator is English? As in From England? I love them English.

Let me continue. The house that Jane now lives in is owned by Mr. Rochester. She then falls in love with him, and he in her. He asked for her hand, and she said yes. At the wedding, she finds out that he is already married. His excuse for this is that the woman that he got married to is mentally insane. They go home and they finally see the crazy woman. Jane gets upset. I don't really know why. She runs away.

She then ends up in a place where she finds those kind people who end up being her cousins. She goes from being poor to being rich. I'm guessing 5 thousand is a lot of money in her time. Actually she gets 20 thousand but she shared it with her newly found cousins. Two ladies and a gentleman. Mr. Rivers, the gentleman, asked Jane to marry him. She then heard her first love, Mr. Rochester.

When she goes back she finds out that the house has burned down to nothingness. She later finds him in a second house of his, but blind. During the fire, that his wife crazy started, he lost his sight trying to save her. She jumped from the top building.

Jane marries Edward Rochester and lives happily ever after.

Do you see why I love it? No? Ok, Let me add one more fact then. When she's telling the story, Jane Eyer talks to me, us, readers. The story is told to you, a very interesting tale. And you, Reader, have the enjoyment of the trip.

Not interested yet? Well, I like it! That should be reason enough, shouldn't it?

xoxo, Angel.

Shiver WOMF #1 [Audiobook]

Shiver (Wolves of Mercy Falls Series #1)Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Grace and Sam share a kinship so close they could be lovers or siblings. But they also share a problem. When the temperature slips towards freezing, Sam reverts to his wolf identity and must retreat into the woods to protect his pack. He worries that eventually his human side will fade away and he will be left howling alone at the lonely moon. A stirring supernatural teen romance."

Grace loves Sam. Sam loves Grace. Werewolves werewolves werewolves. The end.

Hold your guns! I'm not say I hate it. I'm just saying, I want to hear more Sam, more of his smooth sexy voice. I really couldn't care less about Grace. She's cool and all, but not my type. Not that I'm gay or anything. Just that I would have been braver if I were her. SO what if he will be cold and never turn into a human again? If our love was strong enough, he would rise the sun from the west for me. Not that I'm questioning his love for her, I know that that is pretty intense. With all the kissing and stuff.

Maybe I'm saying this because I'm more like Shelby. I'm jealous of Grace. And I want to Sam to me, and Me only. I will probably forget about him when I read some other book, but for now, I want nothing else in my life.

Jack is an ass. Have anyone noticed how most of the jacks are douche bags? I have. Most of them are.

Poor Isabelle. When Jack ate her dog, I just kept on laughing. It was so hilarious. She's exactly what I expected from her. Perfect for this story. Better than Rachel even.

Olive (Olivia). I really didn't think that she would get bitten, never. So when she did, I couldn't take it. I stopped listening, and refused to listen again until I could fully understand what happened. It's like I went through the five stages of grief for a fictional character. I can't believe I just said that.

Speaking of five stages of grief, I was going to do one for Sam, but at the end, I changed my mind. There are other books to this series, and this is hopefully not the last time I will hear from him.

This is a good book. I would recommend it to werewolves-obsessed readers.

Angel.

Unbelievable PLL#4 [Hardcover Book]

Unbelievable (Pretty Little Liars, #4)Unbelievable by Sara Shepard
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

"Sometimes lies come back to bite you. In the case of four pretty little Pennsylvania liars, the chomp really hurts. For years, cuties Spencer, Aria, Hanna, and Emily have survived and thrived with nifty prevarications; now, in this series clincher, it's time for them to 'fess up-or pay the piper! Clever plot turns; great characters."

"Die Bitches, Die." I bet A would be saying that now.

Mona dies. The idea that she was A was a little annoying to me. I wanted A to be much more cooler. The fact that she read it from a diary, Ali's diary, just makes her so... meh.
It's a good thing that there is a new A. Hopefully this one is much more, cooler.

Angel.

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire HP#4 [Hardcover Book]

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (Harry Potter, #4)Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire by J.K. Rowling
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"Harry Potter is back in J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, and this time, the magic gets out of hand!

First, imagine if you will, the sleepy but mysterious village of Little Hangleton, and what happened at the Riddle House. No, the Riddle House is not a place for riddles, but a home where the family died of fright. The man accused of murdering them was eventually released, but when he returns to the Riddle House, he overhears a curious conversation between someone named Wormtail and a terrible, dark presence by the name of Lord Voldemort -- oh, so sorry He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Volde... (oops, almost said it again) He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named is one of the most powerful Dark wizards -- and he wants Harry Potter.

When Harry wakes from a particularly vivid dream, the scar on his forehead throbs, and he knows something is up. Harry's been living in a dreadful house on Privet Drive with his Aunt Petunia, Uncle Vernon, and greedy cousin, Dudley. They won't even let him do any wizardry -- you know Muggles, how they can't really handle that kind of stuff.

Firsts of 2012

I don't know why I'm writing this here, but I thought you might find it interesting. As the new year begins, I wanted to know what are my firsts. Shall we begin?
First Song heard, The Man who can't be moved. When? after 12 am. How? was listening to my ipod, and it was previously there, and I didn't change. -does not count as cheating, I just refuse to admit that it is cheating because it is not, hmph-.
First book read: Harry potter and the Goblet of Fire. Page 145 chapter 10. When? 3:04am. I'm going to read it write after I finish this, I know I'm because of the next first.
First smile: at 3:00 am. reason: found the 2012 reading challenge on goodreads, and put 60 books in it, and was one of the first 8 who had it. Do I need to add that I had this feeling that I'm going to finish more than 60 books? No? OK. :)
First Thought: I'm going to be hopeful this year.
First resolution: wait I have to copy this: Loose weight. I'm kind of lazy, so I wanted a change.
First article: about how to ride a bike. weird. I know.
First person to talk to online: my dad. I still don't know why my messenger was open to begin with.
First tear: don't have one yet, i'm just crazy joyful right now, but I shall update :)
First dance: right after the countdown to new year I danced. Don't know why, but I did.
First drink: Chocolate milk
First food: probably serial, or pancakes, breakfast, generally.
First friend to talk to: Me. sound depressing, doesn't it? It's OK, I'm sure they will pop up sooner or later.
First bored moment: now, as I keep squeezing my brain to get more ideas, but I'm just too tired, and so I get bored with myself.
First bad habit: peeling my nails. I don't mean like the nail itself, I mean the nail polish that is ON the nail. I have this bad habit of peeling them sometimes, and I know it's bad, that's why it is listed as first BAD habit. I plan to get rid of it. Sooner. Or later.
First pain: my shoulders. right about now.
First blog post: 2012 resolutions on my other "secret" blog. It was a bit crazy, I must say. Talking to myself and yelling at it, and telling it.. weird stuff that you probably don't want to hear!

This shall be updated!! Be ware :D
xoxo,
Angel.
